Cotton University PG Admission 2026 : Cotton University has officially released the notification for admission into the 2 years PG programme for the academic session 2026-27 . The P.G Entrance Test (CPGEE) online application starts on 12th June 2026 . The last date for submitting the online application is 21 June 2026 .

Admission to most programmes will be based on the Cotton Post Graduate Entrance Examination (CPGEE-2026), while admission to selected seats in M.Sc. Molecular Biology & Biotechnology (MBBT) under the Open Category will be based on GAT-B 2026 scores.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree of at least 3 years (6 semesters) from a recognized university. The course-wise eligibility requirements are given below.

MSc (Environmental Biology & Wildlife Sciences)Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Botany, Zoology, Forestry, Biotechnology, Geology, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Agriculture or allied disciplines.
MSc (Molecular Biology & Biotechnology)Bachelor’s Degree in Zoology, Botany, Biotechnology, Microbiology or any equivalent discipline.
Master of Computer Applications (MCA)Passed BCA or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science Engineering (or equivalent). OR Passed BA/BSc/BCom with Mathematics at 10+2 level or Graduation level.
Master of Library & Information Science (MLISc)Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
Master of Law (LLM)Candidates must possess an LLB Degree.
Master of Commerce (M.Com)Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or a relevant subject from a recognized university.

Admission Categories

Cotton University PG Admission 2026 will be conducted under the following two categories:

CategoryDetails
Cotton Graduate CategoryReserved for eligible graduates of Cotton University. 50% of the total seats in each programme are allocated under this category. Admission is based on the performance in CPGEE-2026.
Open CategoryOpen to eligible candidates from Cotton University as well as other recognized universities. The remaining 50% of the total seats are available under this category. Admission is based on CPGEE-2026, except for 10 Open Category seats in M.Sc. Molecular Biology & Biotechnology (MBBT), where admission will be based on GAT-B 2026 scores.

Note: Candidates should apply under the appropriate admission category based on their eligibility as mentioned in the official admission notification.

CPGEE 2026 Exam Pattern

The Cotton Post Graduate Entrance Examination (CPGEE-2026) will be conducted in OMR-based MCQ format.

  • Mode of Examination: Offline
  • Question Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Correct Answer: +4 Marks
  • Wrong Answer: -1 Mark
  • Tentative Exam Schedule: First Week of July 2026

The questions will generally be based on the relevant undergraduate syllabus followed by Cotton University.

Study Gap Rule

Candidates applying under the Open Category who passed the qualifying examination before the current year must submit a self-declaration mentioning their activities during the gap period.

Candidates having more than three years of study gap (passed before 2023) are not eligible for admission, except for the LLM programme.

Additional Fee

Students admitted to MBBT must pay an additional laboratory fee of ₹7,000 per semester.

Important Instructions

  • Admit cards will be available for download from the registered candidate portal from 01 July 2026 onwards.
  • Only candidates carrying a valid admit card will be allowed to appear in the entrance examination.
  • Separate examination rooms will be arranged for candidates suffering from infectious diseases, if required.
